WORKS
All literary activity is the reproduction of the world that surrounds me, by means of the world that is in me.’ - Goethe
Núria’s work invites us to find the beauty on the everyday. Núria explores the delicate medium of watercolors to transcript her most intimate impressions of what surrounds her. She celebrates the ordinary, transforming the mundane into art.
While granting importance to technique and tradition, Núria is also daring in her unique way of exploring the watercolor medium.
She often works into a wet surface, letting color and water create its own shapes. Just like water carves its own path, Núria explores her unique way with watercolors.
The Sea
Núria lives and paints by the sea. She feels very connected to the ocean and it is a recurrent theme in her works. Her paintings do not show a particular beach or seascape, they are a synthesis of many moments, impressions and memories of the sea. Each artwork is linked to a real moment in time, painted with a big respect for the environment. She cares about creating art with materials that respect the sea and the animals that live in it. This is one of the reasons why she paints in watercolors.
Domestic Landscapes
Núria has also an important body of work dedicated to still life paintings. She offers a vision of luxury that is not about extravagance but about the richness of observation, the mastery of technique and the appreciation of life’s quiet and profound moments. They are a meditation on life subtleties, capturing the vibrancy of color of a red onion or the beauty of a peach. She reveals the profound in the simple.
